Golf Carts in RC
There have been questions raised about the use of golf carts on River Crossing roads and the minimum age for who can drive them. After speaking with Sgt. Rick Cardenas from CCSO, drivers should know the rules of the road and although there is NO age limit, the drivers should not be allowed to cause a safety issue because of the way they are behaving in a golf cart on our community roads. Sgt. Cardenas stressed that if someone is driving recklessly or you have concerns to call the CCSO Dispatch at 830-620-3400.
The Transportation Code Sec. 551.403 OPERATION AUTHORIZED IN CERTAIN AREAS. An operator may operate a golf:
- in a master planned community,
- on a public highway for which the posted speed limit is not more than 35 miles per hour, if the golf cart is operated
- during the daytime; and
- not more than two miles from the location where the golf cart is usually parked and for transportation to or from a golf course.
